World Mental Health Day marks a start for all of us to open our minds for a healthier and happier start. We can all help reduce the stigma around seeking care for our Mental Health and know it’s okay to put yourself first at times.
Therefore, we pressed pause with Amy Rushworth, leading transformation coach and confidence healer. Amy guides her clients to manifest positivity and confidence through her podcast, ‘The Amy Rushworth Show’ coaching and online healing programmes.  We love how she inspires so many of us, so we asked her to share her tips for sustaining a positive mindset.

1. Boundaries

As a busy entrepreneur with a naturally enthusiastic personality, I can often end up with a lot on my plate and overloaded with responsibilities. I have a lot of people who depend on me heavily for emotional support, so in order to bring my best self forward each day I have learned the importance of setting clear boundaries and saying no. As a reformed people pleaser this was tricky initially, but it’s been a lifesaver when it comes to feeling positive, energised and excited every day rather than overloaded and overwhelmed

2. Take time for pleasure

As I get older, I am realising more and more, the importance of making time for pleasure — especially those times where life feels a bit fast-paced and serious. Some months it’s taking time to travel and explore a new culture, others it’s indulging in a decadent dessert or a spa day, or simply, making time for sexual pleasure and intimacy in my schedule.

3. Gratitude

There’s a reason you see most health and wellness professionals singing the praises of gratitude and having a gratitude practice. It’s not just an attitude, it literally rewires your brain. It’s also incredibly healing for the heart chakra — which is the first part of the body to close up during times of negativity, grief, jealousy or anger. Gratitude is a non-negotiable for me.

4. Movement

I notice a huge difference to my mindset when I’m not working out regularly. I love to work out in the morning as it sets me up powerfully for the rest of the day and energises me. Sometimes if I’m insanely busy with my business and I skip a week of exercise, I really really notice that I’m less clear-headed, more lethargic and feel less motivated. For me, movement is a core pillar of keeping a positive, clear mind.

5. Personal Development

I am obsessed with the human mind and I love personal development — it has changed my life for the better in more ways than I can describe. Many people are scared to go down the “rabbit hole” of personal development because they are scared about what they will uncover. However, I can genuinely say that my life gets better and better the more personal development I do. The self-awareness and tools I have learned help me to move through challenges and failures with confidence. I also feel positive knowing that I can overcome anything life throws at me and that there is always a lesson to be taken from hard experiences.

If you’re looking to heal your anxiety, find your purpose, call in a soulmate, harness more pleasure or reinvent your well-being, Amy can support you to reclaim your fire and rise powerfully in your life.
