There is nothing better than swimming with a city beneath you.  Here are Phoebe’s picks of her favourite rooftop pools in London.

The Berkeley, Knightsbridge

Set on the seventh floor of the luxury Knightsbridge hotel, this striking rooftop pool–beautifully tiled in white and gold mosaic was designed by architect Spencer Fung. Available to non-guests for a fee, the price includes access to the pool, plenty of sun loungers, a selection of spa treatments (depending on the package included) at the Bamford Haybarn spa, which uses British ingredients in its treatments. There is also a state-of-the-art gym. This summer we are collaborating with The Berkeley to offer intimate yoga classes and sun salutations for up to eight guests within the exclusivity of their rooftop garden. Launching on 15th June and running until 1st October, we are very excited to guide guests through arrange of movements; from Vinyasa to Restorative yoga techniques to create dynamic yet relaxing flow classes. To book please call the team at The Berkeley Health Club and Spa on +44 (0) 207201 1699 or email directly at

The Ned, East London

This is the new flagship 5-star hotel from the Soho House group. The Ned hotel gets its name from the eminent architect who designed the building and has been redesigned using 1930’s glamour inspired by the transatlantic ocean liner. The highlight is the rooftop space with swimming pool, rooftop bar and landscaped terraces. There is also a health spa, gym and an underground bar in what used to be the safety deposit vault of the banking hall. For access to the pool, you need to book a room or become a member.
