We generally stress ourselves with work, social engagements, diet and lack of sleep, so piling on a rigorous workout has the potential, in some cases, to do more harm than good. Discover wellness habits outside of the studio and spa, by adding these small balancing practices into your everyday.
Learn to balance - physically
AOn a metaphysical level, holding oneself in tree pose helps one to achieve balance in other aspects of life.
Begin by shifting your weight onto your left foot, lift the right foot off the floor leaving your right leg still standing straight.
Bend your right knee and slowly bring the sole of your right foot onto your inner left thigh, avoid resting your foot on the knee.
Apply equal pressure to your grounding foot, breathe out and raise your arms above your head.
Hold here for 3 slow breaths.
Take your arms down and finish the sequence with the opposite leg.
Try closing your eyes to experiment with your balance and spatial awareness.
Feel calmer? Us too.
